The (NBA) National Board of Accreditation is one of the two major bodies responsible for accreditation of technical education institutions in India, along with the National Assessment and Accreditation Council . The National Board of Accreditation (NBA), India was initially established by the AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education) under section 10(u) of AICTE Act.

NBA assesses  the qualitative competence of the programs offered by educational institution from diploma level to post-graduate level in engineering and technology, management, pharmacy, architecture and related disciplines, which are approved by AICTE. The NBA conducts evaluation of programs of technical institutes on the basis of laid down norms. This may include, but not limited to institutional missions and objectives, organization and governance, infrastructure facilities, quality of teaching and learning, curriculum design and review, support services (library, laboratory, instrumentation, computer facilities, etc.) and any other aspect as decided by the General Council and / or Executive Committee of NBA, which will help the graduates produced by the institutions as per industry requirements.

• Institutions can adapt the outcome based educational approach(OBE) to map and measure student progress at every step of their journey.

• The institutions that successfully get accredited from the NBA can apply and attain autonomous status. Thus, they can work independently without the need of any university.
• Autonomous institutions can apply for grants and funds that promote the financial health of the institution to further boost their work processes and benefit students.
• Promotes a competitive academic environment where students grow and foster socio-economic development at the national level by producing the best quality technical manpower.
